Bad Driving
Monday, 10 June 2002 ‡ 15:48
If you have not passed your driving test on your third attempt, then i believe you should never be allowed to ever take a lesson or test again, thus be banished to public transport, walking or cycling. It is obvious, you have proved you can not cope with the skills necessary to control a motor vehicle. This will have a major impact on reducing the idiots on the road and reduce congestion. Increase the governments demand for use of public transport.
How many of you think that the 'middle' lane of the motorway is the safest and correct lane to be, irrespective of the amount of traffic? The most annoying thing is, those who feel that driving in the overtaking lane is safe and correct. It is probably just as dangerous as speeding.
So for everyone who drives along in a world of their own, never using the rear view mirror or does not understand why the car that just overtook them, abruptly moved across them into the 'first' lane or wander why the car on the inside lane just passed you?, use the driving lane of the motorway.
Other bad driving experiences include drivers who cut across roundabouts, do not indicate on round-abouts and do not indicating when changing lanes or direction. Driving bumper to bumper, especially in the rain, thinking that the car's ABS will somehow allow your car to stop in a shorter space of time, because you don't exactly understand what ABS does.
Driving in the outside lane of a dual carrigeway because you are going to turn right, some 9 miles down the road. For everyone who sets the door mirrors at an angle where they can see half of their cars rear in the mirror, let me ask you, Why do you do that? The back of your car is always gonna be behind you, its the area around the back of your car and at angles from your left and right that changes, so set your mirrors to a wider angle. The rear view mirror enables you to see directly behind your car.
Why are there so many stupid lorry drivers around? They are easily spotted, since they are trying to overtake another lorry which just happens to be traveling at 2.5mph less than they are, thus proceed to overtake it, spend an eternity and thus hold up traffic, which in turn slows from the 'public average' of 80mph to 65mph. Some 2 minutes later we have 5 mile tailbacks. When someone at the back of this gets stuck and assumes an accident is surprised to find nothing when the traffic begins moving at a regular pace.
Why do idiots who do not indicate when changing lanes, project their anger at me as i overtake them, when they are hovering or trying to change lanes in front of me and i do not let them in? I'm not a mind reader, i am not in the business of predicting where you are heading and how you want to get there. I'm just interested in getting to my destination. If someone has a need to change lanes, it isn't a problem, as long as they indicate their intentions.
Blue Neon washer jets! What the hell is all that about? I've seen blue neon bulbs under the car, in the front grille, on the rims... maybe their local car accessory shop was doing a deal, buy some go faster stripes and get a pack of blue neon lights for half price!
I think i will start a campaign of listing vehicle details of those driving badly.
